Compare employer-paid and voluntary Life options.
Employers can select a Basic Life design, while employees may also have access to Supplemental Life and AD&D for themselves and eligible dependents.
EMPLOYER-PAID BASIC LIFE
Flat-dollar Basic Life + AD&D
Five employer-selected designs provide a fixed Basic Life amount with a matching AD&D benefit.
The Flat $10,000 source summary contains an Accelerated Benefits footnote but omits the full benefit section found in the other summaries. Confirm that feature in the applicable certificate.
EMPLOYER-PAID BASIC LIFE
Earnings-based Basic Life
Coverage can be tied to base annual earnings. The 3×/$600,000 Life-only design is distinct from the similarly named Life + AD&D design.
AD&D includes a covered-loss schedule and additional Air Bag, Seat Belt and Common Carrier benefits. The Life-only 3×/$600,000 design does not include AD&D coverage or its related provisions.
EMPLOYEE-PAID COVERAGE
Supplemental Life + AD&D
Employees can elect additional coverage for themselves and, when eligible, for a spouse or domestic partner and dependent children.
Dependent children are generally eligible from birth to age 26; the summary states age 25 in Texas. Coverage, evidence-of-insurability rules and state variations remain subject to the official certificate.
